The body of Abdullah, the student who died yesterday after being shot during the anti-discrimination students movement on August 5, was buried in Benapole of Jashore today.
Hundreds of people gathered to see Abdullah in Baranchra village under Benapole Port Police Station when the body reached the village last night. His Namaz-e-janaza was held at Benapole Ballfield at 11:00am.
A police team gave him the guard of honour before the funeral and later Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rajib Hasan paid tribute to the deceased.
Thousands of people took part in the prayer, following which his body was buried in the family graveyard at his village home.
Abdullah, 23, suffered bullet wounds during the mass uprising on August 5 and died at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka yesterday.
